Eligibility
  • Contestants must be 15-35 years old before 1 April 2014 (applicable to group)
  • Contestants must participate as a group, with people not more than 12 (including the actors)


Theme
The theme should be AIDS "zero infections, zero discrimination and zero death". It can come from real, imaginary, or even personal feelings towards HIV infected patients. The content of microfilm can include:
  1. Problem faced by HIV patients
  2. The social demand of HIV patients
  3. Express the care toward the HIV patients
  4. The idea of how to build a zero HIV infections, zero discrimination society
  5. Others (for more information, please visit UNAIDS’s website,http://www.unaids.org or Department of Health’s AIDS website, http://www.info.gov.hk/aids/english/)
  6. The media of the film can be in Cantonese or English


Rules and regulation
  1. Participation in this competition entails the acceptance of the current regulations.
  2. All entries’ copyright belongs to the Centre. The entries will not be returned, please retain backup contestants advance.
  3. Participants must consent to and authorize the Centre to reserve the right in Hong Kong or elsewhere to publish, reproduce, modify, transmit or issue or broadcast the videos.
  4. Micro-film should be screened in 3 to 10 minutes, it can insert of anyanimation or digitals, drama performance and the production of sound, etc.
  5. Entries must be Original.
  6. The films should be submitted in digital format (MP4、WAV) and the resolution should not below 720 X 576 (4:3) or 720 X 480 (16:9).
  7. Provide 3 stills (1920x1080) for promotional purposes.
  8. The Content should not be obscene, violent, being obnoxious to public morals or illegal.
  9. All Music/ Sounds must be Original or authorized by the author
  10. The participants submitting the film is responsible for clearing all rights to the content of the work relevant to the film's use at the competition. This includes the actual screenings, the industry film market and the use of excerpts on our website. By submittting, they state that they are authorized representatives thereof, i. e. that screening or other use of the film by the competition does not infringe rights held by third parties (e. g. copyrights, personality or trademark rights), and that especially the rights to any material produced by others (music, film footage, photo- graphs, text etc.) used in the film have been cleared. Participants should be responsible and ensure that submissions do not infringe anyone's intellectual property rights. Otherwise, participants will be disqualified and the Centre to pursue legal rights reserved.
  11. The Selection Committee and Jury decisions will be final.
  12. The Centre reserves the rights of changing or deleting the contents of the competition. Please visit the official website for the latest information.


Submission Method
Please use a separate entry form for each film submitted. The films should be screened in DVD-ROM and submit the application form to St. John’s Cathedral HIV Education Centre, Central at 4-8 Garden Road before the deadline. Please state 「Getting to Zero」 - Microfilm Competition on the cover clearly.

Awards
Gold, Silver, Bronze Awards will be selected.The film selected as the champion will be played in the official Facebook and Youtube of the Centre, and will be used as the promotional video next year.

Gold Award:Cash $5,000 & Trophy
Silver Award:Cash $2,500 & Trophy
Bronze Award:Cash $1,500 & Trophy

All teams can commended certificate and have an invitation to attend Award Ceremony.

*Facebook popularity awards- selected after review by the general public to elect 1 team which gets the most "LIKE"s. The team will be given cash award of $ 1,000 and a trophy. (The result announcement date will be revealed later)
